Fractions is a whole object divided into equal pieces. We did halves, thirds, fifths and quarters. Halves is a whole object divided into 2 equal pieces.  Thirds is a whole object divided into 3 equal pieces. Fifths is a whole object divided into 5 equal pieces and a Quarter is a whole object divided into 4 equal pieces.

The woodcutter didn't cut down the thorn bush. The little man said thank you and said I will grant you three wishes. This week for kiwi sport we all went to each neat and we played against each other and when we had to go sit down there were four more people left and the had to face against each other first up was Anderw and Sulia and Sulia won against Anderw next was Alayah and Hosea were playing.But Hosea lost against Alayah.Then Alayah and Sulia face against each other and i dont no who won because I wasn't paying attention and then we said goodbye to coach Peter and then we all went back to class.

This week for kiwi sport we had a new coach called coach Peter.We stared of with a warm up,We got into pours.One person dropped a ball the other tried to catch it.This warm up our reactions.Then we all stop and we sat down and move on to the activity. Learning the forehand and backhand technique.Forehand-one hand at the bottom of the racket.This our dominate hand.Backhand two hands of the racket,dominate hand stays on the bottom,other hand hole above the bottom hand.Then we all side goodbye to coach Peter.

Kiwi Can

In kiwi can today we had to get into groups of five. And there was one leader and the leader had to tell the rest of the group what to do and the rest of the group had to follow the instructions given. and then after that we sat in a circle and we had to talk about our strengths and weakness things that we think we are good at and things we are bad at. we had to share them in a little group then share with the whole class what er are good and bad at doing. and the last thing we did was the human knot. we got into a circle and we had to make a knot with our hands and we had to work together and undo the tie.

Maori

LI: to the history of the Maori culture.
For Maori we had to watch a video that had only the Maori language, we then had to translate those words into English. We also had to translate some Maori words into English. The words the we had to translate into English were Kupu, Hoa, Koa, Moa, two translations of Noa, Ngutu Roa, two translations of Roa and two translations of Toa.  We also had to use three of the Moari words in one sentence

L.I To respect people and objects.

This week we had our first session of Kiwi Can. For this term we have another Theme. Our theme that we were learning about was Respect. Respect means using our manners and honouring people. Then we went into our energiser. The energiser was called Fruity tuity. For this game we needed to listen carefully for what the teacher was saying. If Mr says Apple we would need to jump forward, if he says banana we would need to turn 1.8 degrees around, and if he said orange we would need to jump backwards. Then we had to get back into our 4 lanes. Then we started talking about Unique.

Swimming



We had to find a life jacket that could fit us we put the life jacket on then we came and sit on the wall.
Next we had to swim from the half way to the other end of the swimming pool with our life jackets . We had to get in small groups so we can make a change this helps us with we are in the water to keep together and no one get lost.

For the next swimming skill we had to huddle together this helps us because if it windy or cold and if we do the huddle then we will be warm.
Our next one was to dive like a pencil dive we had to dive and touch the floor and come back up.

For last and final one we had to go to the wall stand up and put on hand at the back of your head and then we had to put other hand on top of our belly we had to jump into the water this helps us so we don't hurt or head.

Inquiry l Rube Goldberg machine

LI: to try make a Rube Goldberg machine with all the six simple machines.
We had to try make a Rube Goldberg machine with the simple six machines. A Rube Goldberg machine is a complicated machine to do a simple thing. It took us 2 tries to get every thing working. I was the person working with the wheel and axle. We used a incline plain, wheel and axle and a lever. 

To create our machine we used a chair and some wood to make the incline plane. We used a car and a book to start our machine. Then someone tips the book, the book hits the car and the car comes down the incline plain, as soon as it gets to the bottom it's going to the person at the bottom of a table. The person at the bottom of the table is going to roll the ball in his hand. The ball then rolls and hits the person standing in front of the table. The person in front of the table is going to roll the basketball then the basketball comes down hits the person next to him. The when the basketball hit the person next to him, the person next to him slides under the table and hits the person that is at the finish. The person at the finish is going to roll the ball down the incline plain and the ball hits the cup with the dice in it.

The thing I found challenging was trying to get everything working. I would change people being under the table.

Rugby world cup

LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the rugby world cup.
This week we are doing a RWC (rugby world cup) challenge, We are using our skills we have learned this year so far. This includes numeracy,literacy and inquiry. Our first numeracy task was world time,we basically had to search what JST (japan standard time) to New zealand time and to other countries. The countries on the table show what time in the world the will world cup final will happen.

AM means ante meridiem, that means before midday like 12:00, post meridiem which means after 12:00. Massive countries like Russia have different time zones unlike small countries like Fiji that has a uniform timezone (uniform timezone means the same time).

Maths/Art work

LI: to earn and look after money by creating with maths.For maths we had to chose and make a piece of art here are the 4 pieces of art to chose from tapa, geometric landscape, 3D object shading and geometric abstract art. The piece of art I did was a geometric landscape. The thing I had to do to make my art was first measure up my page my measure mints are 27.5 cm and 33 cm.

Jamie Wall

Our duffy role model was Jamie Wall. He is an author and writes about rugby games and other sport games like Boxing. Jamie Wall grew up in Wellington, and read a book called Men in Black which was about the All Blacks. It talked about all their games, score, who they were against, who was playing, and the results. Now he is a successful author who has the highest selling book from New Zealand. He works for Maori Television, RNZ or Radio NZ, NewsHub, Stuff, and more. Jamie has traveled to 12 countries a few of them are Japan, Italy, Argentina, France, Australia, Ireland, England, and more.

This week for reading we had to make a copy of this slide.In this slide we had to read a book called Zapped.In this book there were two twins that are building a robot out of a old toaster and a old hair dryer.And the two twins were called Ana and Tai. And then they saw there robot. The robot was all good but the robot made a big miss so the two twins hid there robot and mum saw the miss and she said what is going on in here!.So the two twins had to clean up all the miss that Tidy-Bot made. And the robot is called Tidy-Bot.

We also had to write sentences with the words that we have found about the picture.

Pulley has a wheel and over it is a rope,string or chain.So that'show a Pulley works.We had to get into a group of four.So we gottwo sticks.There is one person in the middle trying to pull in the people
holding the sticks.We also have a rope.After when we had try pulling the sticks in with our hands we tryed pulling it with a rope.We also did more loops.We had to make sure not to get rope burn.When we have done that we have to do our DLO about Pulley.We have to write down the meaning and answer the questions.The last question is about where we have seen a pulley.Here's from our group and it is a elavator.

Distraction

LI. to focus more (not to get distracted).

 We learned how to not get distracted. Distracted is when you fall off focus. Many things can distract us like people talking or physically annoying each other. To learn about distractions we played a game called Distraction Circle. In the game one person stood in the middle and then the other four people do either singing to you, telling a story, Writing a number on your back and the person in the middle has to follow one persons actions.The hardest thing to remember was the person writing on my back because I can't see what number they were writing.

Speech Finals

Today was the speech finals, We had a special guest who came to our school from Tamaki college, It was so amazing how people went up with their confidence. My favorite poem from the juniors was Kendrick his poem was earth day , Reason why i like earth day is to keep the earth clean and stop the pollution so animals don't die.My favorite speech from the seniors was Sulia her speech was about the dangers of technology, The reasons why I like dangers of technology is to get off the computer and spend time talking, laughing , and also spend time with your family.

Kiwi Can

L.I To self control any were you are.
Self control is when you control your self.In the activity we played there were three activity's to do they were fitness,putting the Maori words with the English words,writing Z to A in one minute and doing the catchphrase with different actions. The catchphrase was kiwi can says control your self don't shout over and out.We had to do all the activity's in one minute. The most challenging thing about the activity's were doing them in a minute. I over came the activity's by focusing on the activity.
The activity's that we did for the fitness were 5 push ups,5 squats,5 burpees and 5 sit ups.

S.T.E.A.M



This week for inquiry we were learning about Rube Goldberg while we are doing this activity we are focusing on STEAM (Science,Technology,Engineering,Arts and Maths). We had to make a slide on Rube Goldberg and his personalities. We also had to make a simple machine using our bodies trying to open the door. This activity had to have rolling,turning side to side and other kinds of movements.

Swimming


L.I to learn the basics of swimming.
For Kiwi Sport(swimming) we have been learning different types of techniques for swimming. We had worked on pointing our feet as we kick(to make us go faster). We had also swam in circles in a streamline. We also had learnt how to swim with the boards. He had made a chain by holding each others hands and floating on the noodles. At the end we had played a game of Shark Attack.

Swimming


For swimming today we were floating on our backs, we were floating on our backs again but in a T-shape position, we were submerging underwater and picking up a toy from under the water. I learned by going to the swim-amara.

Fractions of sets



Mr. Wongs maths groups were learning about fractions of sets. Here is an example of an equation: What is 1/4 of 8? To figure this equation out you can look at the denominator for the fraction then separate that number you have into that many parts then count how many you have in one of the groups. So in this case I need to find out what 8 divided by 4 is. You have eight then you share out the numbers until all of them are even. My answer is 2. To make this easier you can just go 4 x 8 and then you have your answer which is two. I enjoyed learning how to do fractions of sets.

Ball review

This week we have been learning about Opinion. This week for our task we had to compare the tennis ball ageist High bounce ball(Handball Ball) We had play a  handball game weather you can see the high bonce ball or Tennis ball. We had to compare the bonce witch has a better bonce and how fast is it and weather you can see it better.
When we finished playing a handball game we had an structure the structure is OREO.

Kiwi can

Our Theme is Resilience. Resilience means doing the right.

Our Topic is Emotions,. Emotion are feeling that infect yourself.

We played Do you feel it our kiwi can teacher will give us a challenge the challenge were to half-five people, Hold your breath for 5 seconds, To do a blank with  10 seconds,20 seconds and 60 seconds. Next we had tell our kiwi can teacher our emotional when we did the challenge and tell our kiwi can teacher why.

Our activity was Emotion Charades   for this game we had to be in groups and our kiwi can teacher will give us an act we have act it then we had to show the class.The difficult about this game is that we had to show them and not tell them.
They have to try and guess the emotional and the act.
Our act was on a  roller coaster  at Rainbow End


Motat

On tuesday my class went to MOTAT, MOTAT is a place where you can explore the past and learn how to make things. First our class went to explore MOTAT.  When we went to explore we saw old villages. In some of the house there item that they used or a human dummy. We went to the cars section and we saw a Nissan, Silvia which was used for drifting. We got to see the engines of the cars too. Then we went on a ride on the Tram. A tram is a train that runs on the road. The tram took us to the air plane section. In the air plane section we saw planes the were used for war. One of the planes were called the bomber, which droped bombs in the war. We also got see the engines of the planes. After exploring we went to the Mind Lab. In the mind lab we made things. The first thing we made was a electric running car. Our equipment we had to use were tape, scissors, axle, skewer, wheels, motor, propeller and some cardboard. Then we had to make flashlights. The equipment were motor, cog, axle, base, light/ LED.

Swimming

This week is our first swimming session for water safety. We had to get in groups with  the staff members from the YMCA swimming lesson.
My YMCA swimming teachers this term is Elisibeth we first had to swim to the half of the pool to see if we should stay or go into the other groups. I stayed with Eleisbeth first we had to do a front flips to the other end.
Next we had to do a dolphin swim we had swim underwater touch the ground and swim back up and doing until we get to the middle of the pool.
Then we had to backstroke we had to float on our back and then turn around on to our belly.
Our Last one was when we had to half five our swimming teacher and do and swim style to the middle of the pool.

Maths

This term for maths we are working as employees to earn as much money as we can for our companies which is our group. We get money for doing tasks from Level 1 difficulty to level 4 difficulty. We also have to pay for rent, different places have different prices. This week I did two digit subtraction, it was a level 1 job and I made a quiz.

Yesterday we went to the hall to do Duffy and they did a play for us and we had to watch the show and it was fun and really cool and we had to watch the show and then at the end we had to say thanks but only two people did it but we got to watch it and it was fun but then they told us about what they were going to do and we did some things at the start and then they start the show the bit i liked was when the lady pull the chair from under him and when the green person and then he can and mix up the words that they had to make and then they said thanks and then we went back to class.

HIIT

LI: to work as hard as we can, and see our personal results
For Kiwi sport we did HIIT, which stands for: High, Intensity, Interval, Training. We had heart rate monitors to see our heart rate, and we had to work as hard as we could to get out heart rate up. We had three exercises to do.

Mountain Climbers is getting in a press up position and trying to put your knees to your elbows. We then did press ups. We had to have our backs straight the whole time. We also had a bunch of ways to do push ups. Knee Push ups, and a One Legged Push Up. Lastly we did pull ups. We had lied on our back and had to pull up with a bar.

Lastly we did a squat challenge. There was a song that kept saying up and down. So we had to listen to the song, in our squat position go up and down.

Inquiry



We had to make a jig saw about all the planets in our solar systems. Then you have to put on lots of facts. 

Maths

LI: to solve word problem of different types.
For maths we had to solve addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, proportions and ratios. We had questions and had to solve them by place value. Then our answer had to be in a sentences.

L.I to skim scan and summarize information

For reading we made a constellation of our choice using marshmallows. The constellation I did was Leo. Leo is a lion made up from nine stars and means Lion in Latin. For our must do we had to fill out a slide of questions and our constellation and write a tweet about it in less than forty words.

We Played two game's These game were games that we wanted to play. They were Octopus and Go Home and Stay Home.
I really had fun playing these games.
