Today we followed Mrs Heka's instructions and made hotcakes. First we got all of our pots, pans, measuring cups. We also got all of our ingredients (Milk, eggs, flour, sugar, butter, berries, banana, ice cream), we put the dry ingredients together (sugar & flour) in a big bowl, we put the wet ingredients (eggs & milk) in a medium size bowl. We then put the milk & eggs mixture with the dry ingredients, we then mixed both with the banana, we then poured our mixture onto the pan and we put our pancakes in our lunch boxes, after that we made a berry sauce and we put that on our pancakes, we also put some scoops of ice cream with it. It was very fun to make and very delicous.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Prepositions
L.I To write a description of my cityscape using prepositions.
This city scape is in Amsterdam. In the middle of this silhouette is the skinny bridge. The skinny bridge got its name because once it was so skinny that not even two people could walk on it. Not many people know that the city is consistently ranked as one of the safest cities in Europe? Or that amsterdam is the only city in the world with a medieval center that is a Red Light District. On the far left is the windmill. The windmill is really important because they help pump water from one place to another. On both sides of the skinny bridge are houses called ‘skinny houses’ because they are so narrow and connect with the Skinny Bridge. On the far right is the Bell Tower which is the tallest structure in the city and if you want to go in the bell tower there is now lift there are only stairs to go in. The colours I used as my background were red, yellow and orange, all warm colours.

Food Technology
L.I To learn our knife skills.
Today in tech we were learning food technology with Mrs Heka at Tamaki Collage. We were learning our knife skills and we made a colourful fruit salad. The fruits we used were yellow and green kiwifruits, grapes and oranges. We had to remove the skin from the kiwifruit and cut the ends off. Next we had to segment the orange. We also learnt how to measure 1 cup of yoghert and how to wash the dishes. My favorite part at tech was chopping the fruit.

Word Cline Sad
LI: To find 5 interesting words that increase in intensity (have a stronger meaning) as you move up the line.
Today we used the thesaurus to make a word cline for the word ‘sad’. As the words go up the line they become more powerful. Here is an example of a sentence I wrote today using my word cline. My favorite sentince I wrote was On one day I felt lugubrious because I did not get to see my friends.

The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs
LI: To retell True Story of the 3 Little Pigs in my own words
Today my group read the True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. After listening to the story we used the retelling pathway to help us retell the main events in pairs. My favourite part was when the third little pig told the wolf 'Your grandma can sit in a pin!' because I thought this was funny.
I made a Screencastify so you can listen to me retell the story in my own words.

Lockdown Memories
LI: To create a digital time capsule of our lockdown memories.
We used images and words to tell the story of our time in Alert Level 4 and in Alert Level 3. The most important part of this time was keeping ourselves safe, being with our families and keeping our learning going. My favourite memory is eating both of my brother's birthday cakes.

Writing
LI: To find 5 interesting words that increase in intensity (have a stronger meaning) as you move up the line.
Today we built a word cline for the word ‘big’. As the words go up the line they become more powerful. Here is an example of a sentence I wrote today using my word cline. There were enormous waves splashing on the soft sand.
