Swimming

 L.I:To learn about water safety. This week for kiwi sport we did swimming. We learned about how to do swimming with a life jacket.Of you don't what a life jacket is a life jacket helps you to float in deep water.You got to put it on propeller so you can float.It also helps you to not drown.The 1st skill we did was pencil dive.We sanded up and take a big step drop into the water straight. The 2nd skill was that we had to float on our backs.It was easy for some kids.The 3rd skill was that we had to get in a huddle.We had to put our arms underneath somebodies arm because of you put your hand on their shoulder you are going to make them drown.After everybody had went into a huddle we had to put our knees up and legs up.The 4th skill that we did was we had to get into a chain.We got into two groups.After we had finish our chain we had to move around the water.We had to hold where they put their arms in.Then we had to float on our backs again to learn how to float on our back with out a life jacket.

Kiwi can

LI: to learn how to solve problems
This week was the last week we learned about Problem Solving. Problem solving is when there is a problem and we have to solve it. It could be a accident, bullies, and more. We also have to ask for help. Most people have a problem but they don't ask for help, because they are shy or afraid. Their expectations are that they would get embarrassed because someone will tease, mock, and bully them.

After that we went onto our energizer. We got into groups of two and had a arch of hoops. Each group got into a line and the person in the front had to jump into the hoops. Then when the person meets the other person from the other group, they have to play rock, paper, scissors. Whoever wins carry's on going to the other persons base. Each time they got to the other persons base was a point.

Then we talked about problem solving, and how to ask for help. How we personally feel when we feel shy to ask for help.

Then after our session we played Matt Dodgeball. We were all counted numbers. We were in our number groups. If one of the Kiwi-can leaders say a number the numbers have to go in the middle of the room and try to dodge the balls that are rolling to them. Whoever won from each number would go to the finals, and then compete with the others that won from the other numbers. Then after that we played GKQ (General Knowledge Questions) then went back to class.

Today for inquiry we had to do some art and it was kind of like pop art we had to first look for a cityscape and we had to make a city the looked like the one that we were looking at and then when we did that we had to look at sunset images and we had to think of what colors we are going to use hot a\or cold colors i used hot colors witch were red,orange,yellow and we also printed out or city's that we made and we needed to cut it out and then we had to plan a background for our city to go on and once we did that we could blog about it.

Mahishasura and Durga

 Today I made a DLO out of a slide show about Durga and Mahishasura. Durga is a girl with 18 arms and Mahishasura is a king with a buffalo head. Them 2 had a battle and none of them died. Mahishasura had claws and Durga had a lot of weapons since she has a lot of arms.

Golf coures

L.I: To calculate the area of shapes using multiplication and addition.





Today I made a video about area of golf courses. I also did addition and time tables. I also did of how many rectangles that I can find in the rectangles. I had to copy a google draw and shade it in then get the numbers on the google draw and time tables them. If I had a number with no partner I would make them in a individuals number and use them for addition.

Narrative writing


L.I:To learn to plan a narrative.
This week for writing we learned about a narrative.Over the past weeks we been planning our character and setting slide so we can make a story about because making a plan is a good idea because of you just write a story without making a plan you will just sit there your hands on the desk and just be in shock and the teacher is going to say "have you finish you story yet "and you are just going to sit there in that table being shock and you will not say anything.We had to make a story to make some editing and change our story up a little bit.We had to go on a google doc and we had to do 3 or more paragrahs to our story.We had to go on a google drawing from the writing slides.We had to go onto our 2 slides the charcter and the setting.After when we got our 2 slides we copy and paste.After when you have finished you blog.When it was this week we had to make a story out of it.We had to make it amazing and exciting we don't want to make it boring because of you do you have to change it up.

Swimming safety

Today me and yr 5's went to swimming. We were learning about how to save people if they are drowning. If we needed help we have to put our hands up and shout out help a lot of times to get the life guards attention. Another one is getting a paddle and pull the person in danger. We also had a noodle instead of a paddle an we use the noodle to pull the person in danger to surface. That was the only thing we did and we went back to school.

Kiwi Can Problem Solving



LI: to show resilience and solve problems
This week we had a new topic for Kiwi Can. Our new topic is Problem Solving. Problem Solving is when there is a problem and you try to solve it. For Example there is a bully, bullying someone. That is a problem. Then what should you do to solve that problem. Resilience is when you never give up and bounce back. Never give up, achieve, and strive.

So we got in to our energizer which was called 'Human Knot'. We got into separate groups. We had to put our right hand up and hold someones hand across you from your group. Then do the same thing with your left hand. Then we had to solve that problem of us being all tangled. We had to solve it by communication, teamwork and more. The first group that was untangled were the winners.

After that we talked about what are the problems we face and how do we solve them. After that we played a activity called 'Mat Dodge-ball'. We were all counted numbers. We were in our number groups. Sky tower

This we went on a trip to the sky tower we had to get in the bus then we had to get out of the bus then we had into groups in Group a and B group a Went with ken and this lady went with group b group a went down the steps then we had to walk to the screen that talks to us about the sky tower the cost the how many floors were there and how much did it cost to build. The sky tower was $75 million to built. It was build for people to contact people. It was built in 1994. The height was 220m long. Their were 60 floors all together. Did you know that your TV is connected by the sky tower

This week for Inquiry we had to find what country or where the bridges we used from last week were located in. I did 10 bridges. For the map we had to include the map of the bridges, a picture of the bridge and information about the bridges.

Maui


LI: To identify the purpose of a narrative. This week for reading we are learning about maui stories. We first read one of a story. the story i did was maui and the sun i described on the DLO. We had to write lessons maui tech people and what he tech. Maui's story is a myth. A myth is facts people made up and also can be true.

Descriptive writing

This week for writing we had to make a Descriptive Writing we had to put in six things about our character and six things for our setting then we had to write a Descriptive Writing.

This week for math We were doing area with paper Mr Wong prinred we had to use a ruler to measure the area of all the rectangle.

Swimming

Today for kiwi sport we did swimming. Before we got to our class we talked about our safety water when we are in danger. James told us some stories and instructions we need to follow. Then after he told us stories and dangers we should not do we got straight into our class and did our lessons for the past 3 weeks. We started with our scaling. Our fingers have to be together and our thumbs has to be a part from our fingers. Then you have to swing your arms back and forward and the thumbs has to go up and down fast. And what your body has to do is your on your back and you have to look straight up and also push your belly up so if the water is deep you can stay up. if you want to get up you look to your feet and then you start going down slowly.

Kiwi sport Swimming


LI: to learn how to be safe in water.
Today we learnt how to scull, streamline on our backs and we also had to put our feet first while sculling. We had to remember when we are sculling we have to turn our hands up and down. We also talked about hypothermia, we learnt that hypothermia is when you get really cold. We went through the signs of hypothermia, the signs were: Blue lips, your shivering, your teeth are shaking, your confused, you can't walk properly and you cant talk properly (you think that you are making sense but actually you are talking gibberish. If you have a bad hypothermia see an adult, also DON'T put yourself in a hot shower if you have hypothermia or else you will faint, if you have a bad hypothermia and go into a hot shower you might die. Today I learned how to scull, streamline on our backs and we also had to put our feet first while sculling. I also learned by going to the inside pools.

This vs That



This week for inquiry we learned about what kind of bridges.We had to write about the Panmure bridge and the Auckland habour bridge.The 2nd one we had to do was a national bridge and a international bridge.We had write about the year it was built,how long is it or something,how much it cost,what materials it was made and what type of bridge is it.We had to look for imformation about the bridge so we can finish it.We had to make sure it was the correct imformation.That's what we did for inquiry.

Area of Rectangles and times tables.

Today I was measuring rectangles with centre mitres. When I measure the rectangles I had to use the centre mitres into a time table. When I turn the centre mitres into a time table I had to figure the answer to the time table. How I solve it. Well there was a time table chart that everyone can use for time tables.

Tengu


L.I:To learn about Tengu
This week for reading we been learning about Tengu. Tengu is a mythical creature that is a bird mini god demon that is good and bad.He steals from travelers and even sometimes kill them.He is a mythical creature from Japan.A person made a book about him and the person thought about what kind of name should this mythical creature be then after that the author thought about Tengu. We had to write about Tengu not a story we had to give links to other stories about Tengu. We had to make a DLO I forgot to put that with To not write a story about Tengu.

This week for writing we planned a nutritive for our character.We had to make a plan before we write a nutritive and draw our character because you might not know what to write and draw because it will be really hard for us and we will get incorrect we don't want to get it incorrect.We had to write in every box to know what to do.You have to think about what your character is going to be.We had to go on a google slide and look at each box in each slide.We had to think about what to write so we can get the idea.After you have done it show the teacher.Then of they say yes you can go blog it and put it up in the must do.

Goal seating

LI: to learn how to be resilient and set a goal
This week for Kiwi Can our Theme was still Resilience and Topic was Goal Settings. Resilience is bouncing back and never giving up when you want to do something or achieve. Goal Settings is setting a goal you want to strive for and achieve. The reason setting a goal is super important is because, you have something to focus on, it could impact your life, and something to strive for and achieve. When you achieve that goal you feel great and you want to achieve another goal that is a higher level. So our Energizer was called Snatch. We were in a circle. There was a rope shaped as a circle. In the rope circle were cones. A song was playing we had to go clockwise around the circle and when the song stopped, we had to snatch a cone. If you didn't snatch it, you were out. Our activity was Octopus. Two groups, each groups were on different sides. They had to get to the other side without being tagged, but when we went to the other side we had to do a action. So we crawled to the other side, and more.

Unit squares

Today I measure 10 different objects. In the photo you will kinda see the objects I measured and different objects. I explain of what I used for the measurements. I also put my photo of the work sheet that I used for the unit squares. I had to fill the area in the rectangle with the unit squares.

Character


L.I: The appearance of my character
Today I wrote about my character. I wrote about his appearance,personality and experiences. I also talked about what the character would look like. He has a friend called Blox. His secrets is not to tell about his super powers. His phrase is Bolt!!!!. When he says that he will turn into a super hero and also will turn normal once he is finish we his enemy. He behaves good cause he is careful and helpful. When he gets something done with his sidekick he tells him great teamwork. He can also beat box. 

Myths, Legends, Fairy Tales

L.I: Is to define myths,legends and fairy tales. This week for reading we were learning about myths,legends and fairy tales. First I had to get into a pair, my pair was Oscar. Then after that we had to make a copy of a google drawings that had a vein diagram to show what is the different about the 3 and what it means. After that we had to read a text that had information about myths,legends and fairy tales, we had to read the text because it could help us understand what they are and it could help us with our vein diagram.

Panmure Bridge


L.I:To learn about panmures bridges.
This week for inquiry we learned about structures about panmure bridges.The first bridge was made in 1865.Builders made different bridges.They made the bridges for people to walk across.They make it when it's lower tide.Also they made in a shorter distance because it will take long to build the bridge in a longer distance.We had to get images 5 or 6 images and see when was it made.After that we had to write about the impact and draw a picture of your own bridge.

Swimming

L.I: To learn water safety.
For kiwi sport we had swimming, this was a great kiwi sport because we all got to know new swimming moves. We also got to use new things to use for our swimming. This photo is of the year fives getting ready to get on to the bus. When we got to the pool there were three groups. I was in the first group. The group that i was in did: ladder entry, slide entry, float back kicking and float forward kicking. I only knew what my group was doing. We got to use floating boards to swim forward. We all had a great time swimming and learning how to swim.

Kiwi can



L.I is to never give up, A chive your goals and try your best
This week Wednesday we went to kiwi can for our 2nd session. We first played an energizer called SNATCH. Where you have 1 rip and take other peoples rips. Next we talked about what our theme and topic is. Our topic is Integrity and our Theme is Goal setting. After that we had our Activity which is BALL GOAL. You have to get the ball to the other side and back with a partner but we did boy & Girl. Last we did our Points. We had 4,5,5,5 & 5. We had 24/25 all together. We enjoyed Kiwi can.

Media

Today in Cybersmart we were learning about all Media being made for a purpose and to portray an image. I would want my image for school to reflect the above.
